OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, June 19, 2020 – Today the Kirkpatrick Family Fund announced the distribution of $12,634,000 million in grants to 177 organizations for its 2020 fiscal year in the areas of animal welfare; arts & humanities; children, youth & families; community development; education; environment; health; social services; and endowment matching grants. The Kirkpatrick Family Fund supports charitable, civic, and cultural causes that impact citizens in central Oklahoma and beyond. For the last three decades, the Family Fund has contributed more than $114 million to qualified nonprofit organizations that work tirelessly to advance cultural, intellectual, and social interests in their communities.

“This ongoing investment is possible because of our founders John and Eleanor Kirkpatrick,” said Liz Eickman, Director – Kirkpatrick Family Fund. “Their philanthropic foresight continues to provide significant resources to address current issues that effect quality of life.”

Following the devastating impact on the nonprofit community following the onset of COVID-19, the Family Fund quickly pivoted to support immediate needs. A donation to the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits helped the organization’s free consulting program provide assistance to Oklahoma nonprofits seeking loans through the Small Business Association. Additional support was provided to help the Center purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in bulk for nonprofit organizations to begin a start-up supply of PPE. The Center strives to equip and strengthen the Oklahoma nonprofit sector through training, consulting, advocacy, membership, networking, and awards.

Support was also provided to the Allied Arts Emergency Relief Fund, which will award relief grants to central Oklahoma cultural nonprofits in the range of $1,000 to $15,000 per organization based on organizational budget size, scope of programs, emerging needs and total resources available. Allied Arts established this fund with $100,000 from reserves and by accepting gifts from other donors like the Family Fund. The organization provides funding to nonprofits across the state to provide tools and resources they need to remain strong and provide quality programming to the public.

“The Kirkpatrick Family Fund is committed to improving the quality of life in central Oklahoma, especially during such a critical time” said Christian Keesee, President – Kirkpatrick Family Fund. “Nothing is more gratifying than supporting the smart, innovative work that goes in to strengthening our community and empowering individuals in need. These grantees play a critical role in stimulating and developing our thriving community, and we are honored to be an encouraging partner and supporter of all 177 organizations funded this year.”

Project support for small grants ($10,000 or less) and matching grant requests are on a rolling quarterly deadline of March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. General operating and large grant applications will be accepted biannually on March 1 and September 1. To learn more about the Kirkpatrick Family Fund, visit
