Kirkpatrick Family Fund Welcomes Larry Keigwin to Board of Trustees
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, June 2, 2021 – The Kirkpatrick Family Fund is pleased to announce the appointment of Larry Keigwin as its newest addition to the Board of Trustees. “The Kirkpatrick Family Fund is thrilled to welcome Larry Keigwin to the Board of Trustees,” said Elizabeth Eickman, Director of the Kirkpatrick Family Fund. “His experience and commitment to artistic excellence will be instrumental to the Kirkpatrick Family Fund and its devotion to supporting civic and cultural causes. We look forward to the significant contributions he will offer this year and beyond.” Keigwin, a native New Yorker, is a seasoned choreographer, curator, educator, and dancer with more than 30 years combined experience. As a choreographer, Keigwin is celebrated for his electrifying and refreshing vision of dance that embodies a theatrical sensibility of wit, style, and heart. He founded KEIGWIN + COMPANY in 2003 and as Artistic Director, Keigwin has led the company as it performed at theaters and dance festivals throughout New York City and around the world. “Mr. Keigwin is very familiar with our program initiatives in Oklahoma and Colorado and is a true creative genius,” said Christian Keesee, President of the Board of Trustees. “His artistic instincts, innovative vision, and commitment to education will be a tremendous benefit to the work of the Kirkpatrick Family Fund.”
A dedicated educator, Keigwin’s approach is rooted in fostering students’ individual creative voices. Keigwin developed K+C’s educational initiatives, most notably the company’s seasonal intensives at The Juilliard School, geared to prepare students for a professional career in contemporary dance, focusing on artistry, composition, and career building. Keigwin is a highly sought-after teacher and has worked with students at universities and educational institutions nationwide, including The Juilliard School and New York University, among others. He is the Director of Dance and co-founder of Green Box and the Green Box Arts Festival in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, as well as Dance Editor of ArtDesk, a quarterly publication devoted to contemporary art, dance, performance, and thought.
